My name is Laura Mouafo, and I’m originally from Cameroon, a beautiful country in Central Africa. I’m the founder and co-owner of Hair Braiding Center, a family-based business built on passion, creativity, and community.

 

As the youngest of eight children, I began braiding hair at just seven years old, playing outside on the grass with my childhood friends. What started as fun quickly became a lifelong calling — a way to make people feel confident and beautiful. I used to braid friends and family for Christmas and special occasions, even at a young age.

 

Moving to the United States gave me the opportunity to turn that childhood passion into a professional dream. Together with my sisters, we continue to follow that same purpose — to create styles that bring joy and confidence to every client who walks through our doors.

 

Today, we are beyond excited to serve the Houston area, sharing our artistry and love for braiding with our amazing clients.
